Picked up a motorola SURFboard eXtreme (?!? taken right off the box) Cable Modem SB6120 that supports DOCSIS 3.0, in anticipation of the Comcast upgrade coming down the road. Turning in the old cable modem will save me three bucks a month. About 3 years before it pays for itself, but I convince myself that I see some speed increase in getting around online. For some reason (new wiring, I think), I'm not getting a Gigabit connection in the kitchen, so I need to tinker with that a bit today. It looks like I have to reconfigure my Linksys WRT610N router; a Windows 7 issue, or something related to using Norton & McAfee antivirus on the same network, it seems. I had recently upgraded the routers firmware, and had saved the old and new router configuration, so I should be OK. My iPod touch crashes and burns disastrously, so that will burn up some time today. Coming closer to picking up a new Motion C5, but I want to touch bases with DMC, which is using them. The question is should I opt for a bar-code scanner ($300). I have one on my current model, but haven't used it. I also looked at a company called Kytec out of Texas that makes touchscreen add-ons for 19 & 24" monitors. I ponder a mock up exam room in the basement...time to clear out some clutter, anyway.
