A spreadsheet to help calculate EHR ROI
At ASCO's EHR Symposium Andrew D. McDonald, FACHE a Principal at PhyBus LLC demonstrated a spreadsheet he uses to help calculate return on investment for Electronic Health Records. I have attached the spreadsheet he has generously agreed to share with the members of Oncology EHR. Thank you Andrew!!
I posted this as a discussion topic in hopes that members of Oncology EHR will make suggestions about improvements, assumptions, savings etc.
I'll start by saying transcription cost savings are only valid if you can really stop using transcription or convert to voice recognition. I also think EHRs are more valuable and more portable if you can minimize the amount of free text notes in the record. Am I being realistic?
